Springfield Action Team (SCAT) conference Handouts

The state wide Permanency Enhancement Project (PEP) is a partnership of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), African American Advisory Council, African American Commission on Families, Illinois State University, Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville), Northern Illinois University and University of Illinois at Chicago.

The overall goals of the project are to:

  • Improve permanency outcomes for all children in foster care
  • Reduce disparities in the number of African American children in foster care
  • Examine the child welfare and permanency outcomes for youth
  • Promote community based solutions to improve permanency among DCFS involved youth.
